Can anyone give me a brief description on how to get the tank off on a Z1000 03, I've had a look in the manuals provided on here and the manual I've got myself but its seem to describe a different tank and hoses, I don't fancy pulling off the wrong hose in the wrong order? and flooding the garage with fuel. It would be a bit easier for me if I wasn't carrying a bit of an injury and could get down and have a good look in and root around, but for the moment I can't, hence help is needed. Thanks

I personally havn't had to remove mine yet either, but TWO good hints, 1:- remove as much petrol from tank as possible, syphoning till dry is best, tank weighs faff all when empty and wont suddenly move about while you're lifting it off. 2:-put some rags around front edges of tank, it'll stop the lacquer being chipped if you lift from the back end.

My main worry is the hoses. The ones shown in the manual are not the same as mine. ie it shows two coming out of the rear of the tank, there are none on my tank, there could be other differences as well. Also hoses and cables (electrical) are clipped under the tank just wondered if there were any special order (for ease) of taking them off. I'm going to leave the job for a few weeks anyway now, until I'm mobile again, that will help big style.

Easy job, remove riders seat, undo bolt of lift up tank. Youll see the fuel hose, its got two press in clips which splits it in half, its meant to be a none leak pipe at the connection, mine still leaked a small amount when flat but on it end was fine, as for the wires, undo as needed. Thats it from memory, hope it helps some

The breather pipe runs down the frame on the left hand side and exits at the swinging arm. Keep it attached to the tank - it's easy to reroute. There is a cube shaped clip each end of the fuel hose under the tank. It has two press buttons on opposite sides. You push these towards each other and the connector pulls off - best to do it where it connects to the injector assembly. It's a fiddly job as there's not much room for your hand. There will be a small amount of spillage but not much. There are two sets of wires running from the tank and the block connectors are under the right hand side panel so you need to take this off.
