I have been having difficulty lately in selecting gears smoothly.... The bike would`nt change down correctly and I thought it was either the selector fork or a clutch problem, but I wasnt getting any clutch slippage or dragging? I asked Bournemouth Kawasaki what their opinion was (difficult when they are 26 odd miles away and without actually seeing the bike) and the guy there said that he had a few complaints about this, especially on higher mileage bikes that are used all year round..... THE PROBLEM IS CRAP BUILDING UP IN THE SHAFT THAT HOLDS THE GEAR LEVER! If you take the left rearset off and remove the lever, coat it in a good smoothering of high quality grease and put it back together it resloves the problem. BINGO! FIXED!

Cool, not that I am having probs atm, but if I do, I know what to start looking at, rather than swearing profusely at it. ;D
